Dave is recommending Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah.

"In Born a Crime, Noah shows us a side of him that we don't usually see on The Daily Show. It is an intimate memoir that illustrates both the beauty and absurdities of life. It could be described as a South African version of Dreams From My Father, but with more jokes. (Like President Obama, Noah is from a mixed-race background, but in a country where it wasn't only taboo at the time, it was criminal. Hence the name of this book.) Addressing major issues like race, religion, language, and domestic violence, he uses his unique experiences to tell stories to which we can all, somehow, relate. This is not a typical celebrity memoir. I definitely recommend it."
